Police in Halton are warning of a home renovation scam making the rounds.

Supposed contractors have been going door-to-door in the area drumming up business; driveway repair, stone work, chimney work, etc.

Police say after agreeing to do the work, and taking cash, they’ll sometimes show up and begin work, but never complete it, leaving residents on the hook after the contractor stops answering their calls or emails.

There have been multiple complaints with this similar mode of operation and similar suspects in Halton. Police believe there may be additional victims in Halton, as well as victims outside of the region.
