Tim Timmons: A Story of Triumph and Gratitude

Every life tells a story, but some stories resonate deeper, inspiring hope and resilience. Tim Timmons’ journey is one of those stories. Diagnosed with incurable cancer in 2001 and given just five years to live, Tim has defied the odds for 25 years. Through his music, he shares a powerful message: God’s presence is near in every season.

Tim’s dedication to his craft has earned him a Grammy nomination for his contributions to Christian music. Beyond music, he’s co-authored a heartfelt book with his wife, Hilary, titled Waking Up Again: A Journey of Grief and Gratitude. He’s also the founder of 10,000 Minutes, a non-profit and podcast encouraging people to live out their faith in the 10,000 minutes of the week outside of Sunday services. As if that weren’t enough, Tim serves as a worship pastor at Journey Church in Franklin, Tennessee.

And now, his story is heading to the big screen. On February 20, 2026, Tim will be portrayed by actor Milo Ventimiglia in I Can Only Imagine 2. The film highlights his journey and the creation of the hit song “Even If,” which he co-wrote.

Hollie Taylor, host of Good Company, recently sat down with Tim to talk about his incredible journey. They discussed the mental and emotional challenges of his diagnosis, the faith that fuels his resilience, and the joy of seeing his story come to life in film. Tim shared how he’s taken control of his narrative, using his experiences to bring light and hope to those around him.
