Back-to-School: New Beginnings, New Season, New Teachings
Each One, Teach One
Summer is winding down; students and parents are met with the excitement and anxiety of a new school year. Whether it’s transitioning to a new grade, making new friends, or balancing academics and extracurriculars, change can feel overwhelming. In situations like this, we can lean on God’s promises: “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God” (Philippians 4:6).
For students, take the time to commit to the plans set out for the school years, guided by the Lord. Pray over your schedule, teachers, and friendships. Parents, please encourage your children to view their classrooms as mission fields—opportunities to demonstrate Christ’s love through kindness and diligence. Navigating the classroom and mingling amongst fellow classmates can be a battle of influence and acceptance.
For parents, this season is also a chance to model trust in God’s provision. Instead of worrying over grades or social pressures, remind your family that their identity is rooted in Christ, not performance. Consider creating a back-to-school prayer journal or blessing your child with a Scripture verse to carry with them.
As the year unfolds, remember to keep God first through triumphs or challenges.
