Danny Gokey

Wanting to make a legacy of Sophia’s life, Danny utilized his American Idol platform and a growing vision to establish Sophia’s Heart, a nonprofit organization established in 2008 in honour of his late wife. He began meeting the needs of a hurting community by helping children and families who have been touched by poverty, sickness, disease, broken homes, and broken dreams achieve a better lifestyle for themselves. By providing job-skill training for adults, tutorial help in school subject areas for children and teenagers, and a music and arts program to inner-city kids, Danny gives the opportunity for families to pursue their dreams in a safe environment.
