Lauren Daigle

Lauren Ashley Daigle (born September 9, 1991) is an American singer from Lafayette, Louisiana. Daigle sings contemporary Christian music.

Like many before her, Lauren Daigle’s journey has not been without its challenges and the route often not as planned.  But beneath her feet lies the road upon which she has traveled, and at its core is a determined, infectious spirit, whose deep-seated love of music reveals a singular talent.

Daigle was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana, and grew up in Lafayette, singing constantly and absorbing the local zydeco, blues, and Cajun music. She loved pop stars like Celine Dion and Whitney Houston and soul icons like Aretha Franklin Al Green and James Brown; at her elementary school, they played “Respect” every morning before the Pledge of Allegiance.

But she didn’t take music seriously until an illness kept her out of high school for two years, and she began taking voice lessons. She planned to enter the medical field and did mission work in Brazil before starting at Louisiana State University, where she would go on to lead the choir and commit to a lifetime in music. The success that started with her 2015 platinum debut album, How Can It Be, which produced three Number One songs—“First,” “O’ Lord,” and the Grammy-nominated “Trust in You”— accelerated with the GRAMMY®-winning Look Up Child, making Daigle a mainstay on the Billboard charts.

With all her work, Lauren Daigle – one of the biggest, unlikeliest stars to emerge in music over the last decade – is demonstrating her growth, curiosity, and ambition. “I just love life,” she says. “I see it as such a tapestry, a kaleidoscope, and I’m trying to grab as many facets as I possibly can. And hopefully by the end of my life – when I’ve had 10 or 15 records or whatever – it’ll show the whole picture. That’s my dream.”

Look Up Child, which earned Daigle her second GRAMMY Award, debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard Top 200 Album chart.  It featured her triple-platinum smash “You Say,” the longest-running No. 1 song to appear on any weekly Billboard chart and marked personal milestones included multiple weeks atop Billboard’s Adult Contemporary chart, a Top 5 position on its Hot AC Chart and a Top 20 position on Billboard’s Top 40 Singles Chart.  The album also produced the platinum selling single “Rescue,” and gold certified singles “Still Rolling Stones” and “Look Up Child.”

Daigle’s ability to connect with her audiences has been well-documented.  It’s helped make her the fastest-selling new artist (of her genre) over the past decade and given her soulful, authentic, vocal power a worldwide audience.  She’s amassed a billion worldwide streams and sold-out headline shows on three continents, in countries including Australia, Germany, England, France, Canada The United States.
