Today is the National Day of Prayer in the U.S.

Thursday, May 2nd, marks is the National Day of Prayer in the United States.

The annual day of observance is held on the first Thursday of May, when people are asked to turn to God in prayer in meditation.

Signed into US law in 1952, the day is intended as a time for people of all faiths to come together and pray for the nation, its leaders, and its various challenges.

Individuals, communities, and religious organizations across the country are holding prayer gatherings, services, and events to lift up their concerns, hopes, and gratitude. It’s seen as an opportunity for unity, reflection, and spiritual renewal, transcending religious and cultural differences.

The National Day of Prayer often involves various activities such as prayer breakfasts, interfaith services, and moments of silence.
