Toronto Mayoral Race Officially Underway

Toronto voters will have a large list of candidates to choose from as the race to elect a new mayor is officially underway.

Dozens of candidates made their way to city hall yesterday to file their papers ahead of the June 26th byelection.

As of this morning, there are 28 candidates on the list.

They include former Ontario Liberal education minister Mitzie Hunter, current city councillors Brad Bradford and Josh Matlow, former city councillor Ana Bailão and ex-city police chief Mark Saunders.

The nomination period is open until May 12th.

Advanced polls will be open from June 8th to the 13th.
