A Family That Prays
A Family Day Prayer, Anyone?
It’s Family Day! This day is often seen as an extra day off before returning to your regular workweek. Some may use this time to catch up with friends who are usually busy over the weekend, while others may relax and take it easy or tidy up the house. All of these are great options: connecting with friends, cleaning your personal space, or recharging your social battery.
These activities benefit both you and those around you—creating a positive impact on your community. But have you considered spending your Family Day immersed in prayers with your loved ones, strengthening your connection with God and bonding over a shared focus?
A family that prays together stays together— Gathered in prayer, humbly confessing your sins and wrongdoings, and praying to nurture one another with no judgment.
The joy felt when family comes together for worship is profound—Psalm 133:1: “How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!” This brings happiness to God, and sharing the joy of unity with your family is astonishing. Or, coming together in prayer, whether as a family or a community, to invite God’s presence is truly remarkable – Matthew 18:20: “For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.”
This Family Day, consider using prayer to connect with God and strengthen family relationships during the holiday.
