Bill to dissolve Peel Region Becomes Law This Week

The province is quickly moving ahead with its plans to dissolve Peel Region.

Mississauga, Brampton and Caledon will all become single-tier cities, free of regional governance, at the beginning of 2025.

Bill 112 passed its third reading at Queen’s Park yesterday.

It skipped the public consultation stage and was fast-tracked through Queen’s Park.

It will become law later this week once it receives royal assent.
