Chow Wins Toronto Mayoral Race

Olivia Chow will be Toronto’s next mayor.

Chow, a former city councillor and NDP parliamentarian came out ahead of 101 other candidates to take the top job, which was left vacant when John Tory resigned in February.

Chow won with about 37 percent support, followed closely behind by former deputy mayor Ana Bailão.

Former Police Chief Mark Saunders finished well behind in third place.

The official results will be certified on Wednesday. A swearing-in date has not yet been announced.
