It is the second last day on the job for Toronto Mayor John Tory.

Tory submitted his formal resignation last night after the city’s budget was introduced.

He chose not to use special veto privileges available to him through the new “Strong Mayor” powers.

Tory announced he would be stepping down last Friday after admitting to an “inappropriate relationship” with a former staff member.

He says he will be working on transition plans today and tomorrow with city staff and Deputy Mayor Jennifer McKelvie before stepping down at 5pm on Friday.
