With a new look and a redefined vision, JOY RADIO heads into a new chapter.
OAKVILLE, ON — September 1, 2022 — Today marks the start of a new chapter for JOY RADIO (CJYE) as it unveils not only a new look, but a new feel to their GTHA and streaming audience.
JOY RADIO continues its community-focused mission through the ever-expanding media landscape. Even though radio is still one of the most powerful ways to reach Canadians, JOY RADIO continues to invest in streaming, mobile, podcast, and more to share the Gospel of Jesus.
Our mission is to broadcast the life-changing power of the Gospel and encourage an active community willing to share hope and kindness with others. We value community, inclusion, and spreading joy to others. We want to represent the Christian faith in a way that is accessible to all.
Since launching on February 5, 2001, JOY RADIO has served their community and surrounding area with uplifting music and encouraging programs. With the country emerging from COVID, they continue to adapt to the increasingly digital role they play for both listeners and advertisers, exploring the need for different types of audio communication to connect with the community. JOY RADIO has introduced expanded news coverage, increased community engagement, and launching this Fall an exclusive monthly newsletter.
JOY RADIO is one of the few ways that local churches can reach a larger audience or serve their current congregation with daily encouragement. President Matt Caine says, ‘‘I think the most common reason listeners tell us what sets JOY RADIO apart from other Christian media is that we represent our diverse local GTHA churches.’’
JOY RADIO’s new sound and look is brighter, bolder and represents having joy ‘Wherever You Are’ – their new slogan! It’s a reminder that no matter what you are going through, with God, you can still have joy. ‘‘We want to support you on your spiritual journey by making our programs and content as accessible as possible – wherever you are. Through streaming on our ‘My Joy Radio’ app and your smart speaker, or at AM 1250 on the radio dial, we are there!’’ says Station Manager Hollie Taylor. ‘‘It is our prayer that our programs will offer people joy and encouragement wherever they are physically and spiritually. We are excited to continue growing with our audience and reaching them in new ways.’’
