Mississauga Mayor Crombie Inches Toward Liberal Leadership Bid

Mississauga Mayor Bonnie Crombie appears set to announce she is officially running as leader of the Ontario Liberal Party.

Crombie has an announcement scheduled for Wednesday.

She had set up an exploratory committee last month to gauge interest in a leadership bid, along with a campaign-style website.

To date, Liberal MPP Ted Hsu, and MPs Nathaniel Erskine-Smith and Yasir Naqvi are the only three people to officially announce their candidacy.

Provincial Liberals will vote for a new leader in December.
