Safety in Toronto’s transit system is still in the forefront.

The Toronto Transit Commission has introduced new forms of communication for riders that need to report safety concerns.

In addition to the Safe TTC app, you can now text concerns to 647-496-1940 or

fill out a web form.

On Monday, Toronto police said they were ending extra patrols on city transit, put in place in January, after a spate of violent attacks and assaults.

Those shifts were being filled by officers working overtime, and police said they would return to deploying on-duty officers on the TTC for regular  patrols.
