Your Reminder to Love

Making Time to Show Compassion

As Christians, Valentine’s Day isn’t a day we celebrate because there is no singular day we should love one another. Instead, the day serves as a blatant reminder that we should always pause, take that moment to express gratitude to our loved ones, and remind them that they are appreciated. We often get caught up in our selfish desires, become blinded to the people around us and neglect their needs and feelings. The same thing can be said about our Lord. He gives us everything we want and need, and we often forget to come to him and show him the love that he deserves.

Instead of looking towards Valentine’s Day as a reminder, we have five Bible verses that will serve as a reminder to love God, your family, your friends, your work, and your life.

  1. Romans 12:10

“Be devoted to one another in love. Honour one another above yourselves.”

  1. Proverbs 3:3

“Let not steadfast love and faithfulness forsake you; bind them around your neck; write them on the tablet of your heart.”

  1. Song of Solomon 8:7

“Many waters cannot quench love; rivers cannot wash it away. If one were to give all the wealth of his house for love, it would be utterly scorned.”

  1. Zephaniah 3:17

“The LORD your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing.”

  1. 1 Corinthians 13:7

“Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.”
