More and More Canadians Worry About Paying the Bills

If you’re feeling the pinch, financially speaking, you are not alone.

A new report – by insolvency firm MNP – says 52 percent of Canadians surveyed say they are $200 away from not being able to pay all their bills this month.

High interest rates and the rising cost of living get the blame.

Additionally, 35 per cent – a record high for the survey – said they already don’t make enough to cover their bills and debt payments

The Bank of Canada is scheduled to make its next interest rate decision on Wednesday.

Economists predict the rate will be raised to five percent.
