Ontario Labour Minister Stepping Down

It’s been a hectic week for Ontario Premier Doug Ford.

Ford announced Friday that Labour Minister Monte McNaughton is stepping out of politics and entering the private sector.

McNaughton was first elected to Queens Park, representing the riding of Lambton-Kent-Middlesex since 2011.

His resignation comes a day after Ford announced he was reversing his decision to open Greenbelt lands to development, and apologized for doing so in the first place.

Two cabinet ministers have resigned in recent weeks over the scandal.
