Toronto Cleaning Up After Winter Storm

The City of Toronto continues to clean up after a big storm dropped about 30 cms on the weekend.

The City of Toronto declared a “major snow storm condition,” on Saturday, which is in place for at least 72 hours, limiting parking so crews can remove the snow that’s built up.

Most of the parking bans are along designated snow routes – and mostly in the downtown core. The City said on Saturday it’s likely the event will be extended beyond the 72 hour mark, and most of the removal will happen Monday night and continue into Tuesday.

Vehicles left in “no park” areas will be towed and the owners hit with $200 fines.

The City says more than 1000 pieces of equipment were put out on the streets to help with clean up efforts.
