Burlington Beekeepers to the Rescue!

Halton Regional Police with thanks for a number of beekeepers who helped clear the scene after millions of bees escaped their crates.

Police said officers were dealing with a load of bees that had fallen off a truck onto the roadway on Guelph Line, north of Dundas.

In a post on social media, police say beekeepers quickly arrived and managed to safely collect the vast majority of bees quite quickly.

Some crates were being left behind for the bees to naturally return to.

Police were asking pedestrians to avoid the area and that residents do not approach or touch the crates being left behind for the bees, which will be collected once the bees have returned.
