Toronto Mayoral Race Heats Up

Two names have been added to the list of those who want to be Toronto’s next mayor.

Councillor Josh Matlow announced his intentions in an open letter today, saying political leadership at City Hall has held the city back for years.

Yesterday, former police chief Mark Saunders also confirmed he’d be running to replace John Tory, who stepped down last month.

City council still needs to approve the by-election day of June 26th, which it is expected to do at a meeting next week.

Several others have announced their intentions as well, ahead of the official date for nominations on April 3rd.
